US GDP third quarter + 2.1%, below expectations

NEW YORK, NOV 24 – The American economy grew in the third quarter by 2.1%, above the + 2% of the first estimate but below the expectations of analysts who bet on a + 2.2%. Unemployment claims in the United States last week dropped 71,000 to 199,000, the lowest since 1969. The figure is better than expected by analysts, who were betting on 260,000.
