Turkish Airlines bans Syrians and Afghans from flying to Minsk


ISTANBUL, 12 NOV – Turkish Airlines no longer accepts Syrian, Iraqi or Afghan citizens on its direct flights from Turkey to Minsk except for those traveling with a diplomatic passport. Sources of the Turkish national airline confirm this to ANSA, stating that the decision came into force last night and at the moment there is no date for the resumption of service. Belarusian airline Belavia also said it will cut connections from Turkey to Minsk for citizens from Syria and Iraq, but also Yemen, stating in a statement that the decision was made at the request of the Ankara authorities.
