(ANSAmed) – MADRID, AUGUST 24 – National tourism in hotels and hostels in Spain returns to pre-pandemic levels: this can be learned from the latest data published by the National Institute of Statistics (Ine), according to which overnight stays in hotel facilities for people residing in the Iberian country were almost 15 million, or 0.4% higher than those of the same month in 2019. The presence of international tourists, on the other hand, still remains far from the pre-pandemic levels: hotels and hostels of people arriving from abroad were about 11.4 million, less than half (-59.5%) compared to those of July 2019. The total overnight stays (for residents and foreigners) were still 125 higher % compared to July 2020. The main countries of origin of foreign tourists are Germany and France. Fifth Italy. (ANSAmed).
