Spain: heat alert in the Canaries, 41 degrees at midnight


MADRID, 17 AUG – Over 41 degrees at midnight: it is the temperature recorded by the Spanish State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) last night in the west of Gran Canaria, one of the Canary Islands, currently hit by an intense heat wave that it had already hit the Iberian Peninsula in recent days. Very high temperatures, above 35 degrees, were also detected during the night in other points of Gran Canaria and the islands of Tenerife and Lanzarote.
