Last month Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11 series in China. All three devices are powered by MediaTek Dimensity processors. Globally, however, things will change, as the company will launch the Redmi Note 11 series with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC in the first quarter of 2022.
In reality this shouldn’t come as a surprise, given that Xiaomi often diversifies devices depending on the market they are intended for. This does not mean that we will never see these variant with Mediatek on our market, in fact Redmi Note 11 is none other than the POCO M4 Pro 5G seen a few days ago. Furthermore, it seems that Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G seen in China, will arrive on the global market as Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge
At the moment there is no other information on this, so we do not know if three models will actually arrive on our market and we do not know which chips they will adopt. We can speculate that we will see Snapdragon 7XX series chips. What shouldn’t change is the design, which should be identical to that seen in the Chinese variants.
What do you think of this company’s decision to change the chip? Do you prefer Qualcomm or Mediatek chips?
