Pokemon GO: distances increased for interaction with Pokestops and Gyms

Niantic listened to its community and decided to increase the distance of interaction between the player, Pokestops and gyms on Pokemon Go. This change comes following a decline suffered by the company due to Covid-19 in many areas.

It all started when the Pokemon Go Maker he thought the pandemic would be over soon, so it didn’t seem necessary to clear the way for players by decreasing the distance to interact with Pokestops and gyms.

The problem was: with the rise of delta variant cases on the rise, most players didn’t feel safe enough to go out and play Pokemon GO. Rightly. YouTubers, Influencers and the community of players have started a real movement through which they ask the developer to be heard. Find all posts with the hashtag #hearusniciantic.

Trainers – We can’t wait to share our plans due to the task force on September 1st, but one thing doesn’t have to wait! From now on, 80 meters will be the base interaction range for Pokéstops and gyms globally. Thanks to everyone who made your voices heard. We have heard from you and understand that this has been a welcome bonus for many players. We will share more next week.
