Oppo Watch 2 is ready to make its arrival with Snapdragon Wear 4100 and WearOS
Wear OS, this year is finally getting the attention it deserves from Google it deserves. As we have already seen, the next versions of WearOS will be in partnership with Samsung, Google is building their own smartwatches with new health features and a brand new user interface. Samsung and Google-owned Fitbit are working on new hardware with the updated version of the operating system.
According to the latest rumors it seems that OPPO is working on the next OPPO Watch 2, which will mount the new version of WearOS that Google is developing together with Samsung.
Last year, OPPO unveiled Oppo Watch, the brand’s first model in the smartwatch market. The watch certainly resembles the Apple Watch with its square design, but internally, of course, it was anything but a clone. Outside of China, the Oppo Watch is equipped with WearOS and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC.
Shortly after the international launch, the Snapdragon Wear 3100 had already been replaced by the Snapdragon Wear 4100. To date, there is only one WearOS smartwatch that has Qualcomm’s latest processor: TicWatch Pro 3.
It seems that for 2021 OPPO is presenting its new Watch in 7 different versions:
While the first model had 8GB of internal memory, a line in the build properties file confirms that the new model will have 16GB of memory. Finally, the source shared some details about the software, including new watch faces, the addition of stress detection, and a new OPPO Relax app.
According to the tipster, the Oppo Watch 2 will keep the square design of its predecessor. Another tipster shared pictures of what is assumed to be a poster showing the Oppo Enco Free 2, OPPO Reno 6 is Oppo Watch 2.
Obviously, it is not confirmed whether the wearable under consideration is the Oppo Watch 2, a China-exclusive version of the OPPO Watch 2 or another different smartwatch. After all, the Chinese version of the Oppo Watch features a different processor and software version than the global model, and there are even rumors that OPPO is working on a smartwatch called Oppo Watch Free.
Obviously, as soon as we have new info about it, we will return to the issue.
