ROME, SEPTEMBER 15 – Four men, between the ages of 19 and 30, were arrested today for the death of Lyra McKee, the 29-year-old journalist killed in April 2019 by a stray bullet in Derry, Northern Ireland, while documenting the shooting unleashed by local militants linked to the New Ira against the police on the sidelines of a search. The BBC reports. One of them has already been charged with murder, another with aggravated revolt. All arrests were made on the basis of the anti-terrorism law. “These arrests are the culmination of a two-year investigation into Lyra’s murder and the events that preceded it,” said Police Lieutenant Jason Murphy, thanking the community for their cooperation and support.
