The 40-year-old’s dress is bold by royal standards, in red silk faille it features a plunging neckline and a fitted bodice that accentuated Meghan’s waist, while the skirt and train are very classic. As usual, she stuck to her minimal tastes, her hair pulled back and limiting the jewelry to the wedding band, thin bracelets and diamond drop earrings.

Certainly the Herrera look wasn’t all that wild, but the combination of fiery crimson, Giuseppe Zanotti satin heels and black eyeliner worthy of a rock star they are a long way from the style the Duchess preferred before she and Harry retired from their official royal duties. Smiling as they walked hand-in-hand on the red carpet, the couple stole the show with a fresh take on the royal style.
