Lili Reinhart is always at the forefront when it comes to talking about difficult topics, the 25-year-old has opened her heart on Instagram to tell about her struggle with “cystic acne and the resulting body dysmorphic disorder.
The star of Riverdale had a particularly tough day on Friday, November 12, so she talked about it in her Instagram Stories to help those who find themselves living in the same situation as him:
“Having cystic acne sucks pretty bad as it is, but having to be in front of a camera during a pimple outbreak makes me feel 100,000 times worse“, wrote the actress.
Lili went on to explain that she has been suffering from cystic acne since she was 12. Now 25, she still struggles with this condition and sometimes it can be hard not to be sucked into a whirlwind of bad emotions:
“It triggers a lot of old feelings of BDD (body dysmorphic disorder) inside me and I want to crawl under a rock and hide“, he wrote, noting that in his”worst days on set something as stupid as a pimple“takes over itself.
Lili explained that she decided to post these words to help people who “they deal with the same feelings, so they feel less alone“.
Hoping to have done just that, the actress closes her Stories on a positive note and has let her followers know that she is “working not to let yourself collapse anymore“. He also sent”love and empathy to all who struggle with acne“.
The star of Hustlers had previously detailed how cystic acne triggers BDD in her during an interview with Seventeen of 2018:
“I have cystic acne and sometimes when I have a breakout it takes me back to that time when I was a teenager and I felt so embarrassed – like the whole world is looking at my ugly skin.a, “he told the magazine.”I didn’t leave the house when I had a rash, which is horrible“.
We too send love and empathy to anyone who experiences one of these difficult days, reminding you that a pimple, or even a thousand pimples, does not define who you are or even your value <3.
