Libya: Commission rejects Gaddafi jr’s candidacy

TRIPOLI, NOV 24 – The Libyan Electoral Commission has announced that it has rejected the candidacy of Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of the former dictator Muammar, in the presidential elections scheduled for 24 December. Wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for “crimes against humanity”, Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi is among the 25 candidates whose files have been rejected, according to a press release from the Libyan High Electoral Commission (Hnec).
