The new film by Wes Anderson, “The French Dispatch”, was presented at an official competition at the Cannes Film Festival in July, during the announcement of the organizers.
“Initially for the first time in Cannes 2020”, an annulment edition of the raffle of the first confinement in France, this film toured in Angoulême, in the south-west of France, the precision of the festival on Twitter.
The film reunites a plethora of stars, dont Bill Murray, the acting actress, Tilda Swinton, Timothée Chalamet, Adrien Brody, and the French side, Léa Seydoux and Mathieu Amalric.
A 52-year-old American salesman, Wes Anderson builds two long meters, such as “A bord du Darjeeling Limited”, “La Vie aquatique” or “Ile au chiens”, a tender and melancholy university, marked by his love for the plans in the symmetry of parfait. “The French Dispatch” with a scene from the history of the last issue of an American magazine, published in a fictional French town from the 20th century, is a synopsis.
Il s’agit du troisième film officiellement en lice pour succéder à la Palme d’Or 2019, “Parasites” du Sud-koreen Bong Joon Ho. The official selection of the festival will take place today, June 3, during the traditional press conference.
And the figure of “Annette”, by Français Leos Carax, who celebrated the overture of the festival and the reunion of Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver, with the Sparks in the script and music. Le Néerlandais Paul Verhoeven, author of films in the perfume of the scandal (“Basic Instinct”, “Elle”), is an element in the face of “Benedetta”, a film about a lesbian girl in the 17th century, interpreted by Virginia Efira in Belgium.
The Festival is open from 6 to 17 July.
