KJ Apa will go to a prestigious military academy in his next film “West Pointer”



Director Rod Lurie chose KJ Apa to recite from protagonist in his next movie West Pointer.

Deadline reports that the film is set against the backdrop of the prestigious United States Military Academy by West Point. Apa plays an arrogant boy who graduated top of his class in high school but now has to learn to sail and compete in a historic venue where every student was also the best in class.

The director writes from experience; He graduated from West Point in 1984 and served four years as a combat weapons officer in the United States Army. Production will apply for permission to shoot on the legendary campus.

The 23-year-old recently starred opposite Sofia Carson in the pandemic thriller Songbird produced by Michael Bay. He is currently engaged in the production of the fifth season of Riverdale, in the role of Archie Andrews. KJ’s other films are The Last Summer, The Hate U Give is A Dog’s Purpose.
