Kendrick Lamar broke the long silence and reappeared on social media to update fans on a very important issue: the new album.
He did it through a long and intense letter, in which he also explains that his next album will be the last one under the TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment), his historic label with which he has released his entire music catalog so far.
“I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts – the artist begins – Writing. Listening. And by collecting old bicycles. The morning runs keep me on a hill of silence.
I’ve been without a phone for months.
Love, loss and pain they disturbed my comfort zone, but glimpses of God speak through my music and my family.
As the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters most. The life my words will land in.
As I produce my latest album for TDE, I am delighted to have been a part of such a cultural footprint after 17 years. The struggles. The success. And above all, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a ship for sincere creators. As I continue to pursue the calling of my life.
There is beauty in completion. And to always have faith in the unknown.
Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I have prayed for all of you.
We will see each other soon.
