Instagram has announced new features to give content creators even more options when editing Reels. Users will now find a text-to-speech function and new voice effects in the Instagram app.
The company announced that the Reels editor now includes the speech synthesis, which basically allows you to use an artificial voice instead of having to use your voice in the video.
This feature allows an automatically generated voice to read text aloud. Text-to-speech helps you add audio without using your voice, be creative, and add fun and humor to your Reels.
This novelty is not exactly original, as TikTok has been offering speech synthesis for a long time. Robotic voice videos have become so popular on the web that Instagram has now decided to introduce a similar feature. However, that’s not the only feature Instagram is rolling out for video creators with this week’s update.
Instagram also introduced the ability to add vocal effects to a video. Among the available options are helium, robot and vocalist, through which it will be easier to make funny videos with different voices.
The new features are already available for Instagram users on iOS and Android. Make sure you are running the latest version of the Instagram app, available for free on the App Store and Play Store.
