Huawei has announced the launch of two new high-end monitors. We are talking about MateView, Huawei’s first flagship standalone monitor, and MateView GT, a monitor dedicated to gaming.
On the design side, MateView ditches the traditional bulky backplates and instead features a geometric design. In addition, on the back we find an innovative magnetic panel and the first integrated height-adjustable support debuts. The monitor motherboard is separated from the panel by design, allowing users to adjust the height and tilt to their preferences easily and elegantly with just one finger.
It is a monitor designed for professional use with a 28.2-inch panel in 3: 2 format with a native resolution of 3840 × 2560 pixels. In addition, it offers a 94% 8 screen-to-body ratio to provide users with a highly immersive visual experience. Each monitor is professionally calibrated at the factory to produce colors accurately, achieving a color accuracy rating of ΔE <1 in sRGB mode and ΔE <23 in DCI-P3 mode.
Additionally, the MateView monitor is VESA Display HDR 400 certified, which means users will have no problem discerning hidden details in darker areas of the displayed image. Users will love the incredible breadth of colors on the display, which supports 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and 100% of the sRGB color gamut.
In addition, there is no shortage of TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications, which attest to its ability to effectively filter harmful light emissions and relieve eye fatigue caused by screen flickering.
Behind the monitor, users have access to a versatile range of ports, including two USB-C ports, two USB ports, an HDMI port, a Mini DisplayPort, and a 3.5mm audio jack. MateView connected mice and keyboards can be used as input and navigation peripherals for connected devices such as notebooks and smartphones. Not only that, it will also be possible to connect to the monitor wirelessly, for example to connect a smartphone and take advantage of the large display of the monitor.
Finally, we find two high-power front speakers built into the stand, in addition to two microphones that support built-in noise reduction algorithms and sound detection from sources up to four meters away.
Huawei MateView GT
You know it’s a dedicated gaming monitor and it’s the first Huawei curved monitor. The 34-inch display in 21: 9 format has a resolution of 3440 × 1440 pixels. In terms of color performance, it increases color accuracy for gaming and video editing as it supports DCI-P3 color space. Each single panel is professionally calibrated to have a Delta E value <2. In addition, it supports a maximum brightness of 350 nits and a contrast ratio of 4000: 1, as well as HDR 10 to make content more realistic.
Like any self-respecting gaming monitor, a high refresh rate is an essential requirement. The Huawei monitor does not disappoint, thanks to a 165Hz refresh rate. This not only ensures smoother and clearer images for the user, but also reduces any damage to the eyes of the monitor user. For gaming scenarios, it features a Dark Field Control function. By adjusting the display brightness in dark or overexposed scenes, it can help players quickly spot opponents. Furthermore, the display incorporates the Crosshairs function which is specifically designed for FPS games. Even when the game’s scope is off, the MateView GT will provide a scope to gamers and help them aim and shoot easily.
Below the bottom bezel is a five-way joystick and OSD (On Screen Display) menu to make interacting with the monitor easier than ever. There is no lack of TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and supports DC dimming, which effectively reduces blue light and flicker.
The innovative SoundBar is the perfect mix between a speaker and the support bracket united in a single element. Includes two speakers that support 2.0 stereo sound. for both gaming and video and allows users to immerse themselves in amazing surround sound. The RGB touch panel on the SoundBar not only offers a customizable lighting effect, but also allows users to easily adjust the volume with a finger.
Finally, there is a wide range of ports, including a 3.5 mm audio jack, two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a USB Type C port for charging and a full Type-C port.
