France, attempts to injure policeman ‘in the name of the prophet’

PARIS, 08 NOV – A man armed with a knife attacked a police officer at the wheel of a car in front of a police station in Cannes this morning at dawn, saying he was acting “in the name of the prophet”. The officer wore a bulletproof vest and was unharmed. Then the assailant circled the vehicle and attempted to stab a second policeman who was on board. At that point a third policeman took up the service weapon and fired, seriously injuring him. “The trail of terrorism is being evaluated,” French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said on Twitter.
