Ed Sheeran recalled when he was rejected to audition for a British TV series

When a door is closed, a door opens: Ed Sheeran is the living proof!

A video dating back to 2007 and in which the singer faced the auditions to join the cast of the English TV series Britannia High, centered on a show school. The casting itself was shown on television.

In the clip, we see that the contestants had to show their talent in both singing, dancing, and acting and now the artist recalled that moment chatting at the Jonathan Ross Show:

“There was this TV show that I did when I was 16 and it was a show where you had to have three weapons. You had to be able to act, dance and sing and two of those things I couldn’t do. There was this girl who went to the same high school as me and she was an incredible dancer. She taught me a choreography that looked fantastic when she did it … so I copied what she did. ”

The show’s creator, Arlene Phillips, dismissed the then 16-year-old Ed because he didn’t get along very well with dancing: “I finished the audition thinking it went very well and then I saw Arlene Phillips say I didn’t have a chance“commented the singer.

Here you can see the video of the audition:

With hindsight, we know that fate had something else in store for him: an extraordinary career as a songwriter!

Ed Sheeran has sold more than 150 million records worldwide and the latest album “=” it reached number one in the ranking of our country and of many other nations.

And why not, every now and then he makes a few cameos as an actor. The most recent is the one in the movie Red Notice, in which he plays himself but in a version in which we will never see him in reality, that of the inflated balloon!
