Ed Sheeran celebrated 10 years of “+” with a message that will make you move

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of his album “+”, Ed Sheeran shared on Instagram a long message that we are sure he will get you one tear.

“This is me in 2011 at the Worlds End a pub Finsbury Park, right after I signed my publishing agreement – writes the artist posting a photo of ten years ago – I was living all over London at the time, anywhere someone would want me, but Finsbury is where I spent most of my evenings thanks to my friends’ open mic nights. I first moved in 2008 and on my first night I was inspired to write my own song ‘The City’, which was the first written and recorded for my debut album ‘+’ (or ‘Plus’ if you use Google). It’s been 10 years since the release of ‘+’. I’ve been making music for a long time, but I guess the major debut counts as the start in the industry, so it’s officially a decade. All I ever wanted was to have a gold certified album and sell out at Shepherd’s Bush, I never thought my career would go any further this to be honest and, if so, I would have been happy. When ‘+’ came out it went gold in the first week and I played a sold out Shepherd’s Bush 3 weeks later. Since then, everything that has happened in my way has been an added plus, it has been an incredible journey and far beyond my dreams. And it all started with an album recorded in Windlesham. Happy birthday ‘+’ and thanks to everyone who keeps it alive, it’s not my album anymore it’s yours, and I’m honored that it’s so many moments and memories for so many people. “

“+” came out on September 9, 2011 for Atlantic Records and featured hit singles such as “The A Team”, “Drunk” and Lego House “.

Thinking ahead, Ed Sheeran will release his new album “=” the next October 29. He recently released the single “Shivers”, which he presented on the stage of MTV VMA 2021 together with the previous one “Bad Habits”.
