DiCaprio invests in Israeli start-up for synthetic meat

TEL AVIV, 22 SEPT – Leonardo DiCaprio has recently invested an unspecified sum in the Israeli start-up ‘Aleph Farms’ which is working on the production of synthetic meat obtained from modified bovine cells, an alternative to animal one. His first steak of this type was in 2018. Media reports that the actor – who is also a staunch environmentalist – contributed to the $ 105 million round of funding started by ‘Aleph Farms’ last July. The movie star also took to the field in support of Dutch alternative meat startup Mosa Meat which has been working on the same production since 2013. According to the same sources, DiCaprio is expected to become a director of both startups. (HANDLE).
