BEIJING, 15 SEPT – The MeToo movement marks an abrupt halt in China. Haidian District Court in Beijing has dismissed a sexual harassment lawsuit against one of the country’s most famous CCTV television hosts, Zhu Jun, for lack of evidence. Zhou Xiaoxuan, known by the online nickname of Xianzi, had recounted the harassment suffered by Zhu in an essay that immediately went viral on social media in 2018, in which she explained that in 2014, while engaged in an internship at CCTV, the conductor had groped her and kissed by force. The case had helped revive the MeToo movement in China. (HANDLE).
