At BAFTA Television 2021, stars will be able to appear in a hologram version

Nominated among others: The Crown and actors John Boyega, Letitia Wright and Paul Mescal

Sunday 6 June will be held the British Academy Television Awards 2021, which reward TV series, programs and characters and are considered the English version of the Emmy Awards.

Get ready for a futuristic novelty in this year’s edition: the stars who will not be able to participate in flesh and blood at the awards ceremony, however, there will be a hologram version.

The BAFTAs have indeed made the technology available to the nominees or guests that otherwise could not have appeared due to restrictions to contain the coronavirus or because they are in “isolation bubbles” while projects are being shot.

We had already had a glimpse of the holograms in the performance of Liam Payne for the BAFTAs dedicated to cinema last April, when he performed with an avatar of himself projected as a hologram.

At the top of the BAFTA Television 2021 nominations is the miniseries Small Ax, with 15 nominations. It follows The Crown with 10.

For the protagonists, they are nominated among others John Boyega, Letitia Wright and Paul Mescal.
