ROME, NOV 19 – Amazon’s investments in Italy increase: from 1.8 billion euros in 2019 to 2.9 billion in 2020, for a total of 8.7 billion since the opening of Amazon.it. This was announced by the Group, adding that in 2021 3,000 new permanent jobs were created for a total of over 12,500 employees. “Through investments, Amazon has contributed to the creation of new quality jobs, the growth of Italian SMEs online, the development of logistics infrastructures and large-scale renewable energy plants”, explains the company, underlining that this has led to “an increase in its tax contribution” to the country, to 345 million euros in 2020 from 234 million in 2019.
