BOLOGNA, 13 SEPTEMBER – “The situation in Afghanistan shows that the threat of growing extremism is still real and requires a coordinated international response. Italy is committed to such coordination with all partners – including, as the presidency of the G20, proposing the G20 as an inclusive platform for dialogue on the Afghan dossier. Our priority must be to continue to guarantee assistance to the Afghan people and to preserve the achievements achieved over the past twenty years, especially in terms of human rights and civil liberties. The contribution of the world’s religious leaders in this effort will be fundamental ”. This was stated by Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio speaking in streaming at the panel on ‘Foreign Policy and religion’ within the G20 on interreligious dialogue underway in Bologna. (HANDLE).
