In a new interview with Variety, the 20-year-old social media star shared how he reacted when she found out she was chosen as hero of the Netflix movie He “s All That, which gave her the opportunity to officially debut as an actress and to demonstrate all her talent.
“When I got the role, I cried hysterically in the car and i was really excited to show the world more of what i love to do and keep chasing the dreams i’ve had since i was a little girl“, has shared.
“It will certainly be difficult to show people how passionate I am and how much love I have for acting“, has continued. “There is a lot of pressure that comes with it, but it is something that I am willing to face and show people that this is really who I am and what I love to do.“.
Addison also recounted how she now feels more comfortable in share authentic self online:
“I’ve learned to overcome the wall of not wanting to show my insecurities or flaws or things I’m embarrassed about“, has explained. “Now more than ever I have said to myself, ‘This is me whether you love it or hate it.’ At the end of the story, as long as I feel super excited and happy with the things I’m doing, that’s all that matters. “
He added that while the negativity on the internet will always be harmful, over time “you learn how to love yourself a little more precisely from the people who like to hurt you“.
He’s All That is a remake of the 1999 film She’s All That (Kiss Me in the Italian version), but with reversed parts: if in the original it was a boy who transformed a girl’s look, now it is Padgett Sawyer, an influencer played by Addison, who bets that she will be able to make a not very popular classmate the king of school.
In addition to the 20-year-old star, they also appear in the cast Madison Petis, as friend Alden, Peyton Meyer, Padgett’s boyfriend who, by cheating on her, starts the idea, e Tanner Buchanan, the guy chosen for the makeover. There is also Kourtney Kardashian with a cameo: the eldest of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters she is one of Addison Rae’s best friends.
