A tanker explodes in Sierra Leone, at least 99 dead


ROME, NOV 06 – At least 99 people died following the explosion that took place last night in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, caused by the collision between a tanker full of fuel and a truck at a service station. The wounded hospitalized are about a hundred. The fire that broke out after the explosion spread throughout the surrounding neighborhood, causing victims in nearby cars and in several adjacent streets. According to the reconstruction of a rescuer, most of the victims are street vendors and motorcyclists who were killed while trying to recover fuel leaking from the tanker. (HANDLE).
