Four days of events to celebrate the 70 years of reign of the Queen Elizabeth II: Buckingham Palace has unveiled the official program for the platinum jubilee!
Queen Elizabeth will cross the milestone of 70 years on the throne on February 6, 2022 and she will be the first British sovereign to reach this stage.
However, the celebrations will be held in June to have more guarantees of good weather, as “happened with the gold and diamond gubilees: from Thursday 2 June to Sunday 5 June 2022 they will be holiday days for the whole of the UK.
The celebrations will begin on Thursday 2 June with the traditional Trooping the Color, which will be held in full form for the first time since the muted editions due to the pandemic. Over 1400 soldiers, 400 musicians and 200 horses will parade. You probably remember this parade as the one where the whole Royal Family faces the balcony of the Palace.

On Friday, Queen Elizabeth II will attend a special mass in St Paul’s Cathedral. On Saturday 4 June, the sovereign will join the rest of the royal family for watch the Epsom Downs Derby horse racing.
In the evening, there will be the most pop event: a live concert at Buckingham Palace, called Platinum Party at the Palace. No names of the performers have yet been announced, but official sources have anticipated that they will participate: “the biggest stars of the entertainment world“.
It will end with the Big Jubilee Lunch, that is the street parties of the communities of the United Kingdom, and with the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, an exhibition of over 5 thousand people between theater, music, circus, costumes and street art.
In addition to these four days of celebration, throughout the year, Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the Royal Family will travel the country participating in official events designed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the reign.
